49 Special is an original and contemporary bluegrass band
from San Francisco. Our sound is a mix of bluegrass,
country, rockabilly and new-acoustic. Our band has
the drive of a crackin' banjo, the cry of a lonesome
fiddle, the twang of a hot Martin guitar, and the
beef of a doghouse bass (and occasionally the
pulse of the snare). We bring the spirit of a
country show together with the soul of
bluegrass to provide a show that
can excite any audience.
